BLE Key Compact has room for a rechargeable battery under the board. With the battery it works without a cable: Longpath shows the battery level, USB-C charges it, and after ten idle minutes it goes to sleep. The first press wakes it up again. Without the battery it runs on USB-C and ships anywhere we ship to; with the battery it ships within mainland Europe.

What it does

  1. 01

    No cable, if you like

    With the optional battery you key from the sofa, the shack or the train and charge it over USB-C like your phone. Without it, it runs on any USB-C charger or power bank.

  2. 02

    Battery level in the app

    With the battery fitted, Longpath shows how full it is and whether it is charging.

  3. 03

    Sleeps when idle

    After ten minutes without keying it sleeps. The first press only wakes it, nothing is sent.

  4. 04

    Your own key

    Any straight key or iambic paddle with a 3.5 mm stereo plug. Tip is dit, ring is dah, sleeve is ground.

In the box and shipping

  • BLE Key Compact, with or without the built-in battery, assembled, flashed and tested with its nRF52840 board, or without a board, ready for your own

Your Morse key or paddle and a USB-C charger are not included. You need the free Longpath app on iPhone, iPad, Mac or Android; for prompting, the free Frame Storyboard app (1.1.0 or later), on the same devices.

Every item is built to order and ships from Munich, Germany. Shipping follows the address you enter at checkout: €5 to Germany, €12 to Europe, €39 to the rest of the world. The United Kingdom is not served. Orders from outside the EU may be charged import duties and taxes by your country's customs; these are paid by the buyer.

Options with a lithium battery ship to mainland Europe only: Germany and the other countries under "Europe".
